Dayville Fire Company Implements OnSite ERT™
Ann Arbor, MI -- February 20, 2008 – The Dayville Fire Company in Dayville, CT has
implemented OnSite ERT for tracking and locating its firefighters on-scene at
emergency events. The Department began training on the system in February 2008,
outfitting all of the department’s response vehicles and personnel with OnSite
wireless tracking tags and receivers.
When asked why he chose OnSite ERT, Fire Chief Michael Hewko replied, “I was
looking to replace our old accountability system with something more modern. I
wanted to be able to track my firefighters on scene, instead of just know who was
there. OnSite ERT was the only product that offered the real-time tracking I was
looking for and I immediately knew it would improve safety ”. Chief Hewko added “The ease of use and deployment of the OnSite ERT System was also very
attractive”. The Dayville Fire Company protects approximately 20,000 residents over
an area of 50 square miles.
